2020 saw The Eumundi School of Rock establish a new band for teens called The Eumundi School of Rock Imperial Super Band, supported by Gold level sponsors The Imperial Hotel Eumundi.

The Imperial Super Band is a five-piece band for musicians aged 13 – 17 years and is an exciting opportunity to showcase our extra talented older kids!

The 2020 program saw the emergence of The Feral Cats of Tokyo – featuring musicians who had been part of ESOR in earlier years, combined with fresh new talent like singer Cora Ledwick

This an audition-based scholarship and includes five free one-on-one lessons with our ESOR professional teachers followed by rehearsals at the Imperial Hotel Eumundi (how rock is that!!?!) and professional mentoring with ARIA award-winning and National Jazz Award-

winning local musician/composer Zac Hurren.

Not only that… these teen musos also land some awesome professional gig opportunities, with performances at the world-famous Eumundi Markets and more recently, at the Sunshine Sounds Festival.

It gives the kids an amazing opportunity to learn what it is like to be a working band and playing gigs - and even earn a bit of pocket money whilst doing what they love.

Manager of The Imperial Hotel Eumundi Paul Thomas said the team at the hotel are delighted to help the ESOR with the sponsorship that includes financial support to cover tuition and teaching for the kids, a lesson/rehearsal space and provision of back line (instruments).

“Music is a big part of what we do at The Imperial and nurturing the next generation of musos is a privilege,” Paul says.
